HOW IS THE MEAT SHIPPED?
Our meat is vacuum sealed, frozen, and shipped with plenty of dry ice in an insulated box liner.
Our quick transit time and careful packaging ensures your order arrives at your door frozen and fresh.
DO I NEED TO BE AT HOME TO ACCEPT DELIVERY?
No need to be home for delivery. A signature is not required; however, we do suggest unloading your beef into the freezer as soon as possible to ensure it stays frozen and fresh.
WHAT IF MY MEAT IS THAWED UPON DELIVERY?
We do everything in our power to ensure your beef arrives as frozen as possible. However, there are circumstances that can affect transit time that are beyond our control like extreme weather conditions or shipping delays.
In the rare event your order is completely thawed upon arrival, we will gladly make it right. Please reach out to info@elkinscattleco.com to let us know.
I'M LOCAL. CAN I PICK UP MY ORDER?
Of course! Our ranch is in Lampasas, TX; however, our stomping grounds are in 78619 (Austin area). If you are local to either of these zip codes, mark your order as pick up at checkout and let us know from which.
All our meat is stored at our Lampasas location; therefore, please allow us time to get your order to the specified zip code. A team member will contact you to plan a pick up time accordingly once your order is placed.
OUR HERD
HAS YOUR MEAT BEEN TREATED WITH ANTIBIOTICS OR HORMONES?
No, our beef is not raised with antibiotics or hormones as part of standard practice. If an animal becomes ill and requires antibiotics, it is removed from our supply chain to ensure that only healthy, untreated animals are used in our products.
IS YOUR BEEF DRY-AGED?
Yes, all of our beef is dry-aged for a minimum of 15 days by our incredible partners at a local, highly trusted family-owned processor.
IS YOUR BEEF GRADED?
All the beef harvested for market is USDA Prime grade, ensuring the highest quality and tenderness. We are committed to providing our customers with premium beef that meets the highest standards for marbling, flavor, and overall quality.
IS YOUR BEEF ORGANIC?
While we are producing a 100% all-natural product, we are not certified organic. We raise beef that we believe to be the very best quality and to us, knowing your farmer holds much more power than any certification these days. We consider our standards to be superior than organic since our livestock is raised outdoors.
WHAT ABOUT mRNA VACCINES?
We do not, nor will we ever, use mRNA’s on our herd. We pride ourselves on intervening as little as possible by raising livestock dependent on the environment rather than pharmaceuticals.

IF THERE IS EVER A PROBLEM WITH YOUR ORDER, PLEASE:
- Collect all applicable information related to the order, such as your order number and date of purchase. Please capture photographs of the following (if applicable): shipping label, packing slip, packaging, products and product labels.
- Submit a request to our team via info@elkinscattleco.com or on our Contact Us form on our site and mark as urgent.
DRY ICE
Boxes ship with dry ice, which sublimates within 12 hours to keep meats frozen in transit. Our superior packaging and dry ice means meats can stay frozen 48-92 hours if they hit any delays.
If the dry ice is not fully sublimated by the time you open your package, please handle with caution. DO NOT TOUCH WITH BARE HANDS OR PLACE IN FREEZER. To dispose, place outside to fully sublimate.
SHIPPING CHARGES
Due to our frozen product requiring quick shipment times, shipping can get rather expensive. As a small family-operated company, we are unable to completely cover shipping for our customers; however, we only charge one fee per order, not per box. Therefore, you can order as much as you’d like and shipping will not increase (split an order with a neighbor to reduce the cost!)
The cost of shipping meat will depend on where you’re geographically located in reference to our primary shipping point in Driftwood, TX. Shipping meats is a FLAT RATE per zone ranging from $26-$76 in the continental US. We are currently unable to ship to Hawaii and Alaska.
