Rancher's Popcorn

Rancher's Popcorn

The World’s Best Popcorn Cooked in Beef Tallow

Popcorn doesn’t have to come from a microwave bag. The best popcorn is made the old-fashioned way — cooked in a pan with real fats and simple seasoning.

This popcorn is made almost every day on the ranch. It’s simple, nostalgic, and perfect for movie night or a quick snack.

Warning: Addicting

Ingredients

Optional

  • extra melted butter
  • flaky sea salt

Instructions

1. Heat the Oil

Place a large pot or deep pan over medium heat. Add the beef tallow or coconut oil and allow it to melt.

2. Add the Kernels

Add the popcorn kernels and cover with a lid. Shake the pot slightly so the kernels coat evenly in the oil.

3. Pop the Corn

Once popping begins, gently shake the pan occasionally to prevent burning. Continue cooking until the popping slows to about 2–3 seconds between pops.

4. Finish with Butter

Remove from heat and drizzle with melted grass-fed butter.

5. Season

Sprinkle with Elkins Cattle Co. Original Seasoning and toss to coat evenly.

Serve immediately and enjoy.

Even the Best Recipe Needs the Right Beef...

Rancher's Original Seasoning

Our beef is the difference between a good meal and one worth gathering around for. We raise, finish, and dry-age every cut for rich flavor and tenderness you can taste. Ready to make this recipe shine? Start with the beef behind it.

The secret to this ranch-style popcorn is the seasoning. Elkins Cattle Co. Original Seasoning adds the perfect savory flavor that pairs perfectly with butter and beef tallow.

  • GRASS-FED & FINISHED

Most beef labeled "grass-fed" still ends with grain. Ours doesn’t. From birth to harvest, our cattle eat only native grasses—never grain or industrial feed. It’s beef the way nature intended.

  • DRY-AGED FOR MAXIMUM FLAVOR

Every cut is dry-aged for a minimum of 15 days, naturally concentrating flavor and tenderness. That deep maroon color? It’s a sign of real, properly aged beef.

  • EXPERTLY BUTCHERED & HAND-PACKED

Our beef consistently earns USDA Prime—the highest grade for marbling and tenderness—inspected and verified by the USDA at our local processor. Every cut is expertly hand-trimmed by skilled butchers right here in Texas.
